We checked 72 dental clinic websites in Tashkent against 30 measurable criteria. They cover the secure connection, mobile version, languages, markup for Google, speed, booking options and analytics. The short version? Nearly every site has HTTPS and a mobile layout. But 86% of the sites open in Russian by default, and fewer than half (46%) have an Uzbek version. 61% have no markup for Google at all. Half of the clinics don't measure traffic at all. Only 15 sites out of 72 meet all five basic requirements. Below you'll find every figure, the method and 4 key steps for clinic owners.
Data collected on 17 October 2026. A 101digital study, Tashkent. We checked only public pages and do not publish clinic names.
Key figures
- 46% of sites have an Uzbek version and 44% are Russian-only. 86% open in Russian by default.
- 31% are marked up as a clinic (Dentist / MedicalClinic) for Google and AI search. 61% have no markup of any kind.
- 50% of sites run no Google Analytics, no Yandex Metrica and no pixel.
- 40% have no sitemap (sitemap.xml) and 21% have no robots.txt.
- 25% have no H1 heading and 18% have no meta description. 2 sites block indexing by mistake.
- The median server response time is 0.42 s. 11% of sites take longer than a second to respond.
- 62% take enquiries via Telegram and 21% via WhatsApp. 6% show no working contact channel on the homepage.
- 43% of images have no alt text. On 12 sites, not one image has it.
- Only 15 sites out of 72 (21%) meet all 5 basic requirements (HTTPS, mobile version, clinic markup, sitemap, Uzbek version).
What we checked and how
We built the list of clinics on 17 October 2026 from public sources. We used search queries in Russian and Uzbek, listings on 2GIS and Yandex Maps, the top.uz, goldenpages.uz and yellowpages.uz directories, and industry lists. That gave us 114 domains. We excluded 42 of them. Some domains did not respond, had expired, were parked or were up for sale. Others duplicated another domain of the same chain, or the clinic was outside Tashkent. One former clinic's domain now sends visitors to an online casino. That is what happens to an abandoned site that still gets traffic from old links.
The final sample had 72 working sites. 56 are "pure" dental clinics and 16 are multidisciplinary medical centres with a dental department. For each site, a script downloaded the homepage, robots.txt and sitemap.xml and recorded the HTTP headers and response time. We did not log into accounts, fill in forms or look for hidden pages. A criterion counted as met only if the homepage code confirmed it. Take the "Uzbek version". It counted if the homepage opens in Uzbek or links to an Uzbek version through an hreflang tag, a URL like /uz/ or a language switcher.
One thing stood out before we even started. In the 2GIS and Yandex Maps listings we looked at, most Tashkent dental clinics (roughly 8 in 10) have no website of their own. They rely on Instagram or Telegram. So the 72 sites in our sample are already the most "advanced" part of the market.
Language: 86% of sites greet patients in Russian
The biggest gap between these sites and their patients is language. Uzbek is the state language and the native language of most people in Tashkent. Search queries in Uzbek are also growing faster than Russian ones (see our Uzbekistan digital market report 2026). Here is what the sites offer.
| Site languages | Sites | Share |
|---|---|---|
| Russian only | 32 | 44% |
| Russian + Uzbek + English | 21 | 29% |
| Russian + Uzbek | 7 | 10% |
| Uzbek only | 5 | 7% |
| Russian + English | 4 | 6% |
| Other / undetermined | 3 | 4% |
| Source: 101digital study, October 2026. We looked at the homepage language, hreflang tags, language version URLs and the language switcher. | ||
46% of clinics have an Uzbek version and 36% have an English one. But look closer. Of the 33 sites with an Uzbek version, 27 open in Russian and hide Uzbek behind a switcher. Only 6 sites (8%) greet patients in Uzbek by default. Picture a patient who searches "tish shifokori" in their own language and lands on a Russian homepage. Many leave without ever seeing the switcher. The language attribute in the code (lang) is set to Russian on 69% of sites and missing on 8%. Only 32% use hreflang tags, which tell Google which version is for which language. On the rest, Google may treat the language versions as duplicates.
Technical basics: almost everyone has HTTPS, then it falls apart
| Check | Passed | Share |
|---|---|---|
| Site opens over HTTPS | 70 | 97% |
| HTTP automatically redirects to HTTPS | 55 | 76% |
| Mobile layout (meta viewport) | 70 | 97% |
| robots.txt file | 57 | 79% |
| sitemap.xml | 43 | 60% |
| Canonical URL (rel=canonical) | 48 | 67% |
| Open Graph (previews in Telegram and social media) | 48 | 67% |
| HSTS (blocks insecure connections) | 21 | 29% |
| Response compression (gzip/brotli) | 69 | 96% |

A few sites have serious problems. On 3 sites the SSL certificate expires in less than 30 days. If nobody renews it, the browser will show patients a security warning. 2 sites run only over insecure HTTP. And 2 sites block indexing with a noindex tag, most likely a setting someone forgot to switch off after development. These sites will never show up in Google, however much the clinic spends on content.
Markup for Google and AI search: 31%
Structured data (Schema.org) tells a search engine that it is looking at a dental clinic with a real address, phone number and opening hours. Google uses this markup for business profiles and local results (Google documentation on LocalBusiness markup). AI answers rely on it to match a site to an organisation.
- 28 sites (39%) use markup of any type.
- 22 sites (31%) use clinic-specific markup (
Dentist,MedicalClinic,MedicalOrganization). 15 of them chose theDentisttype. - 7 sites have FAQ (question-and-answer) markup.
Here is a twist. Multidisciplinary medical centres do better on markup than dental clinics, at 50% versus 25%. The usual reason is simple. Large centres order their sites from studios that follow an SEO process. Dental clinics hire a freelancer or use a website builder.
Titles and descriptions: a quarter of sites have no H1
| Check | Sites | Share |
|---|---|---|
| Title tag missing | 2 | 3% |
| Title shorter than 30 characters (e.g. just the clinic name) | 18 | 25% |
| Title longer than 60 characters (truncated in results) | 20 | 28% |
| The word "Ташкент" / "Toshkent" in the title | 48 | 67% |
| Meta description missing | 13 | 18% |
| H1 heading missing | 18 | 25% |
| More than one H1 | 8 | 11% |

A third of clinics leave the city out of their homepage title. For a local business, that costs patients. Searches like "dentist Tashkent" and their Uzbek versions are the main source of new patients from search.
Speed: a median of 0.42 seconds to first byte
We measured server response time (TTFB) from a server in Europe. A user in Tashkent will see somewhat different numbers, but the comparison between sites still holds. Google rates a TTFB of up to 0.8 s as good (web.dev, Time to First Byte).
- The median is 0.42 s and the mean is 0.58 s.
- 60% of sites respond in under 0.5 s. 11% take longer than 1 second, and one site takes longer than 2 seconds.
- The median homepage HTML weighs 97 KB. On 8 sites it tops 500 KB, which is typical of website builders and heavy WordPress themes.
- 26% of sites use modern image formats (WebP/AVIF).
- 18% of sites sit behind the Cloudflare CDN.
How clinics take enquiries through their website
| Element | Sites | Share |
|---|---|---|
| Phone number in +998 format | 65 | 90% |
| Clickable phone number (tel:) | 60 | 83% |
| A "book an appointment" / "qabulga yozilish" / "send a request" call to action | 53 | 74% |
| Enquiry form or phone number field | 45 | 62% |
| Link to Telegram | 45 | 62% |
| Link to Instagram | 48 | 67% |
| 15 | 21% | |
| Map (Google / Yandex / 2GIS) | 26 | 36% |
| Mention of prices or a price list | 40 | 56% |
| Phone + Telegram + form all together | 25 | 35% |
| No contact channel at all (no tel:, form, Telegram or WhatsApp) | 4 | 6% |
| Source: 101digital study, October 2026. | ||
As expected, Telegram beats WhatsApp three to one. That is specific to Uzbekistan, so keep it in mind if you copy website templates from Russia or Turkey. Prices are another gap. 44% of clinics give no price at all, not even a rough one. Yet "how much does it cost?" is the second most common patient question after "where are you?"
Analytics: half of clinics don't know where their patients come from
- Google Analytics runs on 39% of sites.
- Yandex Metrica runs on 29%.
- Meta Pixel runs on 10%.
- 36 sites (50%) have no tracking code at all.
Without a tracking code, you can't answer a simple question. How many enquiries did the site bring in this month, and from which channel? Any ad that sends people to such a site is spending money with no way to measure the result.
Images and accessibility
The 72 homepages hold 1,803 images, and 767 of them (43%) have no alt text. On 12 sites, not a single image has alt text. For a dental clinic, that is a missed chance. Before-and-after photos, treatment rooms and doctors could bring in visitors from image search. They could also help AI systems understand what the page is about. Nine sites still show 2024 or an earlier year in the footer. To a patient, that hints the clinic may have closed.
What the sites are built on
| Platform | Sites | Share |
|---|---|---|
| Custom development / undetermined | 43 | 60% |

| Tilda | 6 | 8% |
| uCoz | 2 | 3% |

What sets the best sites apart: 15 out of 72
We picked five requirements that don't depend on budget or design. They are HTTPS, a mobile layout, clinic markup, a sitemap and an Uzbek version. Only 15 sites out of 72 (21%) meet all five. So four clinics out of five miss even the basic minimum. That is good news if you run a dental clinic in Tashkent. You can still pull ahead in search with technical hygiene alone, without joining the expensive fight for ad space.
4 key steps for clinic owners (in order of priority)
- Make sure your site isn't blocked from indexing. Open the homepage code and check that it has no
noindex. Our SEO/GEO audit shows this for free. - Turn on the redirect from HTTP to HTTPS and check when your certificate expires.
- Build an Uzbek version, at least for the homepage, service pages and contacts. Add
hreflangtags. Show the Uzbek version by default to visitors whose browser language is Uzbek. - Add
Dentistmarkup with your address, +998 phone number, opening hours and a link to your Google Business Profile.
We cover each step in detail in these guides. Read about a dental clinic website that brings in appointments, what a clinic website should look like and Google Ads for dental clinics.
Limitations of the study
- We checked only the homepage, robots.txt and sitemap.xml. We did not analyse inner pages (services, doctors, prices).
- A script detected the criteria from the HTML code. Some sites load content with scripts after the page opens. They may have scored lower than they deserve on languages, forms and markup.
- We measured response time from Europe. A user in Tashkent will see different values, but the comparison between sites still holds.
- The sample covers 72 sites we could find in public sources. Clinics without a website are not part of the study.
- We recorded the data on 17 October 2026. Websites change, so some numbers may have moved since publication.
