Starting point

Ankalife is a multi-branch IVF and women's health centre in the Olmazor district of Tashkent, with its own embryology laboratory. Its patients do not come from one city alone: alongside Uzbekistan, people travel from across Central Asia, and they arrive speaking four different languages.

When the work began, the centre was spending $3,000 a month on advertising. Enquiries were coming in, but there was no way to tell which part of that budget actually turned into a patient.

Diagnosed problem

IVF is a service where the decision cycle is measured in months. A patient researches, compares, and only then makes contact. The distance between a first click and a real patient is therefore long — and when that distance is not measured, budget is spent blind.

We identified three problems. Ad spend was optimised for general traffic rather than qualified enquiries. Patients were received in four languages, but the digital presence did not reflect that. And enquiries were not collected in one place with their stages tracked.

Strategy

Instead of raising the budget we chose to fix the measurement and cut the spend. The order was deliberate: measurement and enquiry flow first, advertising optimised against that data second, and the budget decision last.

Brand consulting sat at the centre of this. Positioning moved away from the generic "IVF centre" and was rebuilt on the owned embryology laboratory, multilingual reception and Central Asian reach — concrete differences that competitors cannot copy.

Implementation and deliverables

  1. A four-language website: Russian, Uzbek, English and Turkish, with correct hreflang and server-side rendering
  2. SEO and AI search visibility (GEO); MedicalOrganization and FAQPage structured data
  3. Social media advertising rebuilt around a qualified-enquiry objective
  4. CRM setup and management: the source, language and stage of every enquiry recorded
  5. Brand consulting: positioning, message architecture and patient communication language

Limitations and learnings

This case needs an honest note. The centre has a target of 100 patients a month, and that is a target, not an achieved result. The work is ongoing.

Furthermore, while the budget reduction and the rise in enquiries are measured, the long decision cycle in IVF means the enquiry-to-treatment conversion has not yet completed a full cycle. We will publish that figure once it matures.

In healthcare we make no claims about clinical outcomes; what we measure is marketing performance.
